"Bridge-Not chess-Is the Ultimate War Game" according to Michael Ledeen in his article in the Wall Street Journal on May 17, 2015. General Eisenhower, a huge bridge aficionado, believed the conditions of a battlefield or the 'maneuvers of geostrategy' could not be replicated on a board game. This is true for a simple reason. All the pieces are visible on a board where there is still some mystery to a concealed card hand. This allows card players to decide to accurately signal their hand or choose to deceive the opponents (or enemy).
